Health Update 1-23-10
Yesterday, I went in for the other tests. They did a “Carotid Doppler Study,” and an ultrasound of my abdomen (primarily liver). Of course, the tech said that she couldn’t tell me anything and that I would have to wait until everything was read by the Radiologist….which would take “a few days.” So….i end up doing my favorite (NOT) thing in the world AGAIN….WAITING!!! Ugh!
Today, I feel horrible. I have so much tenderness over my liver (right upper side of abdomen). I am nauseated, have ery little appetite, and am so fatigued that I feel like I’ve run a marathon after walking up the stairs only once. I haven’t had anymore of the “garbled speech” episodes though, so that’s a blessing.
Whining seems to be my middle name lately…..and it really isn’t like me. Or maybe it is now….who knows.
I appreciate so much all of the wonderful emails and Facebook comments. Your encouragement and prayers have been such blessings.
I’ll post more when I know more. My husband has an appointment with the same doctor on Monday….so I’m hoping that she might tell him something then.

Cyndi,
May I suggest you read Psalm 91? You continue in my prayers.
Kylie
Thanks, Kylie. The Psalms always seem to calm me. My favorite right now is Psalm 18. I know that God is with me, and I’m waving that in Satan’s face right now!! Have a blessed day!
Cyndi - I went through much the same *after* my gallbladder was removed. It turned out that I had four stones in the common bile duct they didn’t remove. So I had four attacks after surgery - it took over 12 months to pass them all. In the meantime they thought I had appendicitis, a ruptured ovarian cyst, PID, etc.
I recently used a pain clinic to diagnose & treat my arthritis pain. In doing my medical history, the doctor told me that sometimes, when a person lacks a gall bladder (I had mine out at age 23 and I’m now 40), that part of the liver will “take over” and it’s not uncommon to get “gallstones” in the liver.
I’m not trying to diagnose you, but if they come up not knowing, perhaps you can ask them about that. I’m a good canidate for that happening because my gall bladder was sooooo bad at 23. It’s not from my diet; it’s heredity.
Hang in there…I know the waiting is SO hard - BTDT!
Thanks for the info! I will definitely ask my doctor about it. At this point, I can use all of the advice I can get. Thanks tons!
I just wanted to pass along some info as one of my friends has went through six months long of health problems. She had the gallbladder removed but continued to have pain. When they removed the gallbladder there was not stones. So why the did the gallbladder stop functioning? She had dyskinesia (sp) which the pain would not stop with the removal of the gallbladder. She went to Dr. Mathias in Houston, TX. He is one of two doctors in the world that has done research in the role hormones have played in the body especially with the gut. The high estrogen levels is what caused the gallbladder to shut down. A lot of other health problems was also addressed. My aunt has ms and he was able to find what foods triggered the ms. Just wanted to pass this info along in case you were near Houston, TX
